The Lochnell Arms Hotel

I left feeling rested and grateful after a really lovely stay at this gem of a hotel in Scotland. From arrival, the calm atmosphere and thoughtful feel made it more like staying in a home than a hotel. The rooms were beautifully put together, and the mountain and river views made the experience even more special. It's a place that stays with you.

The location on Loch Etive is beautiful, and for the price the stay was satisfactory. Our small room was functional, clean, and nicely decorated, though the corridor had the usual coming and going noise. It was quiet enough late at night. The beds need replacing: the springs sagged and offered little support, so I woke with a sore back. Dinner at the restaurant was good, well cooked, and not too expensive, and the two women on duty were lovely and friendly. Breakfast disappointed me. There was no hot option apart from quick oats, which I can't have as a diabetic because of the sugar. They had fresh fruit, toast, pastries, little cheddar cubes, a couple of strips of prosciutto, garlic sausage, three cereals, juice, tea, and coffee.

All the staff were incredible, and the location was quiet, with stunning views and a small trail nearby leading to a beach. The place was entirely dog friendly, which made things easy. Our spotless, cozy room had everything we needed, including shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, which are getting harder to find in hotels. I can't wait to come back!

The room and dining area both had outstanding views. The hospitality was incredible from start to finish, with really friendly, helpful staff and delicious meals. A fantastic experience.
