The Cullen skink, lobster fish pie and Scottish breakfast were all superb, and the rooms were spotless and very comfortable. Those views are gorgeous! We had a wonderful night at Pier house. Duty manager Bobby-Jo and the whole team were professional and so friendly to us and our dogs. Thank you, we loved it all.

The staff were kind and helpful, and seemed so happy in their work that it made it easy to relax. We spent two nights at this lovely little hotel in a beautiful part of Scotland, with our room looking across to Lismore island. During our stay we took the small ferry over and had a fabulous walk there. The log burners were blazing from breakfast until late evening, which made the place feel welcoming. The seafood is what they're rightly known for. Don't miss the Cullen Skink or the fresh halibut. Breakfast was very good too, with grilled Arbroath smokies and traditional Scottish breakfasts with black pudding and haggis. We'll be back. Thank you!

The kitchen puts so much care into the food, and the staff make the meal feel just as special. We were staying nearby and came to the Pierhouse for dinner on both nights. The sign calls it Seafood Heaven, and that really fits. Huge thanks to Poppy, Sammy and David. Linda and Mark loved it.

David deserves employee of the month if they have one. He rescued my earring after it fell into the sink overflow, and I'm so grateful. We had a fabulous dinner here last night, with excellent food and first class staff. A thousand thank yous!

The chips were delicious, and my partner liked his fish and chips, though he found the tartar sauce too diluted. My monkfish seemed overcooked, and the lemon and ginger sorbet barely had any flavour. The food was tasty enough, but nothing that justified the price or the hype. This was our third Saturday visit in February, and by far the least memorable. It felt average compared with our earlier meals, and we left unsure about returning. The waiting staff seemed uninterested and didn't know much, and the white wine was warm. I used to name this as one of my favourite restaurants whenever anyone asked, but this visit missed the mark in too many ways.
