We had a delicious dinner at the local Indian restaurant recommended in our room, and the hotel is perfectly placed for getting around on foot. It was also genuinely welcoming to dogs, which was a relief. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the hosts made us feel at home from arrival. The place was spotless and well cared for. We had such a lovely stay and would absolutely return.

We were drenched after a whole day cycling in the rain, and Eli and Jim kindly secured our bikes and offered to dry our wet gear for the next day. The room was clean and comfortable, with a nice hot shower. We slept really well after a delicious meal at the Indian restaurant around the corner. Such thoughtful, wonderful hospitality, thank you Eli and Jim!

The rooms were comfortable thanks to proper heating, and they were spotless and well maintained. Everyone on staff was incredibly friendly and the service was excellent throughout my visit. I'd recommend this welcoming, well-kept hotel.

After an 8.5 hour drive for work, I got to the lodge at 21:30 and Ele greeted me at the door. She went over all the necessary details, including the fire and breakfast, and what a lovely woman she was. The room was warm, which Ele had sorted, beautifully clean, and a great place to sleep after such a long drive. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Ele and Jim were so much fun and lovely with our daughter, and we felt right at home during our two days at the Empire Travel Lodge. Travelling with a baby under one isn't always easy, but they provided the travel cot and a high chair for breakfast. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order in a lovely area at the front of the lodge. Our spacious room had a comfortable bed, toiletries in the bathroom, and useful things like a tea and coffee station, iron and board, and hairdryer. The lodge was spotless, and the story behind its construction was lovely to hear. I appreciated Ele and Jim's policy about electricity and heating, it shows how down to earth they are. We'd definitely stay with them again if we return to the area. Thank you, Ele and Jim! Mal, Alex and Zara.
