The place was packed, which made sense once we’d eaten. I had the smash burger and my partner chose the beef stew special from the board. She loved the fresh veg, and both meals were full of flavour and cooked just right. We finished with pudding: the sticky toffee was enormous, and my brownie was pretty muckle too! There’s a great drinks selection, including alcohol-free beer for the driver. A fantastic meal for our last night of the holiday.

The staff were lovely and really accommodating, and we’d happily come back when we’re in the area again. We brought our dog for dinner with us, and the food was the best pub meal we’ve had in ages without being overly priced. My fish and chips were delicious, and my husband said his steak was cooked perfectly.

We’ve stayed in Tarbert lots of times and somehow never tried this place until dinner the other night. The food was amazing, and service was excellent. Everything came out quickly, with hardly any wait between courses. No complaints at all, we’ll definitely be back.
