Breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of choice, quality ingredients, and everything well prepared. Kayla was also wonderful when answering our questions. The hotel itself was spotless, from the lobby through to the rooms, and felt fresh, well cared for, and thoughtfully designed. Staff were consistently welcoming, attentive, and helpful without being overbearing. There was a clear sense of hospitality throughout. We had an excellent stay at Andaz Liverpool and would gladly return and recommend it.

I was unsure about the location before the trip, but it turned out to be perfect. It has a fun mix of old and new downtown, with lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. Liverpool station is right outside, making it easy to get around London. Borough Market and London Tower are about a mile's walk away, with interesting buildings and landmarks along the way. The hotel was stylish and cool, like other Andaz properties. We booked a 1 King Deluxe Room, which was spacious with a large bathroom and felt like great value for its size and location. The several bars and restaurants we visited were good, and the complimentary lobby happy hour from 5-7 each day was a nice perk, as was having the room water refilled. When we arrived, AK greeted us, checked in with us during the trip, and left a sweet handwritten note with British treats in our room. Those personal touches were really nice and don't come along often.

The breakfast buffet at Eastway Brasserie was the best part of our week at the Andaz. There was a great range of hot dishes, including spinach cream, which we wished they served every day, tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages, bacon, hash browns, and eggs. Cold choices included fresh fruit, specialty cheeses, smoked salmon, pastries, and artisan breads. The breakfast team were consistently attentive and friendly. We especially appreciated the warm service from the Indian lady whose name we didn't catch, and Karim. The building is stunning, with warm, colorful décor, and the staff we met were welcoming. The complimentary minibar was a thoughtful touch, restocked daily with water, a light snack, and juice. We were also able to check in early, which made a big difference after our journey. We did have several issues. Rake’s Café Bar and Lady Abercorn's couldn't accommodate us for dinner with our young child, leaving Eastway Brasserie as the only on-site restaurant suitable for an evening meal. More family-friendly dining options would have been good. Our family room, made from two rooms combined, didn't match its online description. The shower leaked under the door, and when we asked housekeeping for more toilet paper, we received two stained rolls and a stained towel. We also found clothing left by a previous guest under the towel warmer, suggesting the room inspection had missed things. Although we opted out of housekeeping at online check-in, staff still knocked twice a day. We had told the hotel about a special birthday in advance, but it was overlooked until we followed up at the front desk. Communication and housekeeping consistency could be better. Even with those problems, we enjoyed our first stay at a 5-star hotel and would still recommend it.

The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly and capable, and the breakfast was great. It's conveniently next to Liverpool Station but still quiet. They also serve free drinks and snacks in reception from 5pm to 6pm. Highly recommended.
