Bedford Hotel

The location was great, with easy public transit for getting everywhere. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the clean, comfortable room stayed at a comfortable temperature even in the 30 degree heat, thanks to the fan provided despite there being no AC.

I liked the hotel and its location. Room 402 was a quiet, pleasant twin room facing the garden. The bathroom is separate from the toilet, but it feels worn, and the shower is over the bath with a curtain. Anyone over 190 cm may find it too small. The towels for the first two days were dull and worn. Parking in the underground car park cost £80 for three nights.

We got a room upgrade that was ready two hours before check-in, which was a big help after our red-eye flight. They also let us leave our bags before and after the stay, and the team kindly confirmed my reservation by email before we arrived. Service was great. Getting around was easy: there’s a bus stop across the street and another near the British Museum, and we reached lots of places without a taxi or train. The British Museum and West End are walkable, and after a show we felt safe walking back, even as women traveling together. The room and view were good. The tub is the one thing to check in the photos first, since its height and size might not suit everyone. It worked for us. I’d book again.

The concierge staff were so sweet, and the housekeepers were friendly and efficient. I’ve had an amazing two-week stay and would likely come back to London and stay here again. It’s a great base for the city’s main sights. I walked to Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and every museum I could get to, and they really aren’t that far.
