Clover Court by Aeria Apartments

I stayed here about three years ago, when I was younger, and really liked the open feel and the balcony. It was New years eve, so I got to see the fire works.

The flat had lovely, calming views and was really well stocked. Heating worked very well, maybe a bit too well! It’s a spacious one-bedroom right in the heart of canary wharf, close to Tescos and an easy walk from other shops. Westfield Stratford is 15 mins away.

The room with a river view was one of the main reasons we booked, but when we arrived we were told it wasn’t guaranteed. Staff said they’d check whether we could move, and after two follow-ups and a message through Booking, we still heard nothing. If the advertised room type can’t be provided, there should at least be a price difference. The apartment was in very poor condition. There were stains all over the filthy carpet, marks on the walls, and mold in the bathroom. Worst of all, the bed smelled strongly and unpleasantly, including the mattress itself, to the point that lying on it felt unhygienic. I’ve never had that experience before. The bed and pillows were also much too soft and uncomfortable. The whole stay was unpleasant and frustrating, and far below what we expected. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

The area was peaceful and quiet, and our three-bedroom had a balcony facing the water. It was a comfortable spot for the family near central London, with clean rooms and new furniture. Customer service was excellent and very responsive. My only wish is that the shower had stronger water pressure. Our security deposit went back to the credit card four days after checkout.
