Comfort Inn Kings Cross

The rooms look nice and the bed was good, but that’s about it. We had two rooms. One was really hot and stuffy; the other had air conditioning, but it was very noisy. The TV in the other room didn’t work. We were told the building site across the street was interfering with the signal. The breakfast room was small and uncomfortably warm. I can’t recommend this place.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms are modern. The bathrooms are clean and fairly up to date, but the room window handle had been ripped off, so I couldn’t open it. The sound insulation is poor too. You can almost hear someone sneeze in the next room, and hallway noise carries straight in. For 100/night, having no hot water in the morning is completely unacceptable. Breakfast was just bad, with nothing hot except toast. I’d honestly rather get a supermarket pastry. The croissants were lumpy and hard, and the yoghurt wasn’t even chilled.

We had a lovely five-night stay in a beautiful room, and the shower and bathroom were great. The air conditioning was easy to use. There was plenty of breakfast, and all the staff were friendly and polite. We’ll definitely stay again.

The atmosphere was really nice, and the staff were helpful and pleasant. Everything was clean and nice, and the price was low for such a good location. Breakfast was a bit dull, though maybe I’m used to having a lot of choice at home. The hotel seems better suited to shorter guests. The bed was short and the hallways small, and if you’re over 1m95, that could be an issue. With the single-glazed windows, street noise was a problem. Still, it’s a decent hotel for the money.
