Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington

We felt welcome and well looked after from check-in to the end of our stay at Copthorne Tara. The reception team were courteous and efficient, and the rooms were comfortable. Breakfast had loads to choose from, all fresh and delicious. Soumya was particularly friendly and attentive during the meal, adding a lovely personal touch. We'd gladly come back and recommend it to others.

The hotel is beautiful, and the stay was truly wonderful. Jamila deserves special congratulations for her excellent service. It had been a long time since I'd received such outstanding attention. She was incredibly attentive and explained every detail perfectly. Having a professional like her on the team is something to be proud of. Her service made me want to join the Millennium group and try more of its hotels.

Copthorne Tara Hotel London Kensington is a handy base for London. It's central in Kensington, close to attractions, shops and transport, and the price is reasonable for this part of town. But the hotel feels dated, like it might have been amazing 20 years ago. Much of the furniture has seen better days, and the building doesn't seem to have had a proper update in a long time. Even the shower curtains were annoying, blowing into you while you shower. Check-in felt slow and disorganised. There seemed to be around 20 people in reception, yet they could only handle two or three guests at a time. The hotel asks guests to rate their experience, which suggests someone higher up cares about service, but the desk staff didn't seem very engaged or interested. I tried the gym, but the air felt thick and the room smelled a bit stale, as if it needed better ventilation. The facilities generally feel old and tired. This works if you want a central London location for a fair price, but don't expect modern facilities or a fresh atmosphere. With a proper renovation and more attention to detail in how it's managed, I think it could be great again.

Easy access to the stations, plus restaurants, pubs and familiar brand-name shops along the high street, made the location really convenient. We had a lovely one-night stay and will definitely return. Everyone we met gave us a warm, genuine welcome at Copthorne Tara Hotel. Gulzar showed us where to leave our bags and was especially friendly and helpful. Thank you all for such great service and for making the stay so enjoyable.
