The afternoon tea felt impersonal and poorly coordinated, especially for a booking we had clearly described as a special occasion. We booked it to celebrate a work achievement and as a New Year's Eve treat. When a staff member asked the occasion, I mentioned that and she repeated, “ok it's for Christmas”. I was also asked about seating preferences, and said we'd appreciate a nicer area for photos. Instead, we were put by a cold corridor. From the start, the service felt rushed and pushy. A young male staff member immediately told us to order the champagne afternoon tea, without any warmth or regard for our comfort. We saw empty tables under the central chandelier and politely asked to move. We also had to ask for shawls, which shouldn't be necessary at a hotel of this standard. After we moved, I noticed my plate was visibly worn, with almost all its decorative details faded. When I politely asked for a replacement, the staff member rolled her eyes and took it away without a word. It really affected our enjoyment. The disappointment was made worse later by a ridiculous spa experience at ESPA Life, which I've reviewed separately. This was the worst client service I've experienced in London. For anyone considering Corinthia London for a special celebration, I'd advise managing expectations. I hope the hotel improves its staff training, attention to detail and consistency of service.

A year after an excellent afternoon tea here, we returned on 30th May 2026 to celebrate another important birthday. The difference was remarkable, in the worst way. The bread was stale, and when we pointed it out, the server just said, “let's start with the scones and patisseries.” No apology or enquiry, just a dismissive response that showed no interest. The scones were reasonable, but the cakes were pretty sub-standard. Service was far below par for any establishment, let alone a 5star one. They had every chance to make it memorable, but it's memorable for all the wrong reasons. What a wasted opportunity. Either they're coasting on past plaudits or they've lost sight of what good service and food mean. It was a disaster, and I wouldn't recommend the experience to anyone. I'll write to Management directly and post whatever reply I receive.

It’s refreshing to find a property that really ticks all the boxes. From the concierge greeting us at the door to their genuine interest in our plans and offer to help, we felt well looked after. The team at the Corinthia London make the experience special. I especially appreciated catching up with the events team, including Florence and Jenny, and seeing how they made time for guests. The way colleagues relate to each other stands out too, particularly at The Northall Bar. A big shout-out to Matteo and the whole team there. Thank you for keeping true hospitality alive.

The shower in our room was hands down the best we've ever used. It had strong water flow from both the overhead shower and the handheld wand, and felt almost therapeutic. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Corinthia London while visiting London and the surrounding area from Chicago. We were there in March, and I still think about that lovely time. I wish I could snap my fingers and be back in our room. Our room was the nicest we've ever stayed in, with a homey feel and a luxurious touch. The staff were so helpful they felt like longtime friends. When we needed another suitcase for the trip home, the concierge team pointed us to a store they recommended. Their expertise helped when we didn't know where to go. Staff in general were friendly, efficient and approachable. I also enjoyed chatting with the doormen about the upcoming World Cup. The restaurants had great menus and even better wine and cocktail selections. We used the tube as much as we could and appreciated being so close to Embankment Station. I've added a few photos of the room, the outside of the Corinthia and the surrounding area to show what I mean about the room and the location.

We stopped in for after-dinner drinks and were welcomed warmly to comfortable seats in the main bar. Though we weren't eating, they brought us very tasty snacks with our drinks at no extra charge. The personal service was excellent throughout, and we look forward to coming back.
