EasyHotel Paddington

Paddington Station is very close, and there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The location was excellent, and the rooms felt well insulated, so the hotel was much less cold in winter than many others. The room was modern, the bed comfortable, and hot water plentiful. It was fairly small, though, and I would’ve liked more storage. Cups or glasses were missing too.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and being close to Paddington makes this a handy spot for a quick stay. The rooms are small, so unless you get a good price, I’d pay a bit more for somewhere with more space, especially for a longer visit. It does the job when you just need a place to sleep.

We chose this because we were on a tight budget, and it’s about what you’d expect for the price. The bed was comfortable, and it had good air conditioning and a smart TV, features missing from many budget hotels. There’s also a cold water fountain, and plenty of nearby food, including affordable options. Paddington station and bus stops are very close. There’s no lift, so you’ll need to carry bags upstairs. The pillows were too soft for us, and our request for extra ones was refused. The shower gel hadn’t been refilled before we arrived, which should be part of housekeeping. The bathroom is tiny, definitely no room to dance in. Hopefully this helps people decide what matters most to them.

After 20 hours at the nearby hospital, I just wanted a few hours of quiet sleep. The tiny room, no window, and lack of amenities didn’t bother me, but the air conditioner in the corner made a loud whirring noise even when switched off. It was louder than equipment in the hospital ward. I lasted 10 minutes, packed up, and left. Reception confirmed that was the sound it makes when off. I thought they’d processed my refund when I asked, but they didn’t, possibly because they didn’t understand me. They later refused it through booking.com too. There was another hotel 30 seconds away at the same price, where I could sleep without that noise. It also had a better bed and a much bigger room and bathroom. There are plenty of other nearby 2* hotels, and I expect they’re all better than what I experienced at easyHotel London Paddington. The owners should be ashamed. What an absolute joke.
