Flying Butler - Chelsea Apartments

Please don’t book this place, or any apartment managed by Valet Apartments. We checked into apartment 3 on our honeymoon and made repeated attempts to get the many problems sorted, but they’re still unresolved. It was filthy and nowhere near the advertised 4-star standard, and the apartment didn’t match the listing. The front door handle was lying on the floor, and the entry code was generic, which made us concerned that previous guests could still get in. The carpet had stains and blood on it, and the furniture was so revolting I didn’t want to sit down. Every blind was broken and couldn’t be opened or closed. Four large floodlights on the opposite building shone right into the bedroom, making sleep impossible. The fridge didn’t work, the freezer was so overfrozen that the door wouldn’t shut, and the iron didn’t work either. Management had absurd standards. I was told I couldn’t speak to a manager because other check-ins would be prioritised over my complaint. A maintenance person eventually came and said he visited every three days because customers kept reporting the same problems. He said he had reported them to the company, which had chosen to do nothing. I’ll be reporting the business to the UK Trade department. They shouldn’t be operating.

We really enjoyed our apartment for a short stay. It was cosy and quiet, and the kids loved their room and the service. I did have some issues, but the property management handled my complaints generously and were very helpful.

I rented the ground-floor apartment, and it was a complete nightmare. There was mold everywhere because of the lack of ventilation. After the first night I asked to move, but that didn’t happen. It’s the worst place I’ve ever rented. Don’t stay here.
