Gresham Hotel

Breakfast cost an extra £5 each and was amazing value for central London, with a cooked meal. The woman running the kitchen was cheerful and very helpful. Our twin room and ensuite were spotless, and the bedding and pillows looked pristine. It's about a 15-minute walk from Paddington Station, and the hotel is good value. We'd happily return and recommend it.

The location made getting to attractions and the underground easy. Reception were helpful and answered all our questions, while the staff, especially in the restaurant, were friendly and professional. We had a pleasant stay, and breakfast had a good range of choices.

I forgot my charger in the room and went back that evening, but it had been taken away and reception couldn't say where it was. When I called the next day, the receptionist berated me for leaving it and expecting a lost-property process. I suggested simply keeping items left in rooms at reception and passing the information between shift staff. They blamed me and said I shouldn't expect them to do that. The response was rude and unhelpful, and I was really disappointed with the service.

The two women at reception were kind and polite. I enjoyed staying here. Just don't expect a Hilton, though the price reflects that.
