The location near Marble Arch, Oxford Road and Hyde Park is fantastic, but this was one of the worst places I’ve stayed. I booked a low-budget room for work, so I suppose that’s on me. Three weeks after emailing the main company, I still hadn’t heard back. I never received my check-in PIN and had to message the WhatsApp number they provided. The single room had its own shower and toilet, but it was unbearably hot because the radiator stayed on. The big bay window wouldn’t stay open for fresh air, and with lights right outside I needed an eye mask and earplugs. There was a kettle but no tea, coffee, sugar or cup, just a small water cup that I used to prop the window open. The shower was freezing in the morning, then too hot, and the toilet was so cramped that a bigger person wouldn’t fit. The internet was awful, though at least the TV let you play YouTube. The floors creaked so much you could hear everyone and everyone could hear you. The bed was the worst part. It was broken the first night, so I slept on the floor with the mattress. They put wood over it the next day to fix it, without even saying sorry. I travel a lot and had never had to lift the end of a bed against the wall to sleep. The pictures won’t be exaggerating. Whatever you do, don’t stay here. Spend the extra.

We didn’t check in. My friend has a mould allergy, so after talking it over with a staff member, we left immediately. We were told the hotel would confirm the situation to Booking.com and that we just needed to contact them for a refund. Booking.com later said they couldn’t process it because the hotel hadn’t confirmed what happened. The hotel has kept saying it contacted Booking.com and is handling the case, but nothing has been resolved from our side. That felt misleading. The room had mould on the walls and was cold, damp and dirty. The bathroom and shower were basically squeezed into what looked like a closet, with no real comfort or privacy. The rooms weren’t cleaned, and the floor was so dirty that we had to ask a staff member to vacuum it right in front of us. The mould, dampness, cold and general neglect made the stay unacceptable. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Its hygiene, communication and lack of responsibility could ruin a trip.

The shared toilet was across the corridor, and even the shower had no hot water. With London at -1, I had to make do with freezing cold water. I’d paid €285 for two nights in a superior single room expecting an attached bathroom, so this was a terrible surprise. There was no reception or management around. I tried several times to reach someone by phone, email, and WhatsApp, but got no reply. They said they’d move me the next day, but that never happened, and they also refused to refund me so I could find another hotel. My room was on the third floor, with no lift and very narrow stairs, so I had to carry all my luggage up and down myself. The whole stay was a nightmare. I wouldn’t recommend booking here.

There was no reception, just email, so when something went wrong there was nobody to contact and no solution. Room 21 was only 10 square meters and had nowhere to put belongings. The window wouldn’t shut, the hairdryer was broken, and the shower was unreliable with a partly dismantled door. What was called a bathroom had only a hand basin and no sink, and there were no towel hooks. The toilet was so cramped that anyone even slightly overweight would struggle to use it. For the prices they charge, this place is shameful, more like a hovel than a hotel. Lamentable and deplorable. I’ve never seen anything like it.

The rooms were clean and looked after, and every interaction, from the restaurant and room service to the front desk, felt professional and caring. The staff made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and happy to help with whatever I needed. I had an incredible stay, and highly recommend it.
