Henry's Townhouse

The breakfast was delicious, the best I've had in quite some time, and we were so well looked after. I had a wonderful girls' trip to London at Henry’s Townhouse. The interiors are stunning, with lovely attention to detail, and the staff were so helpful. It felt like a home away from home, and I'll definitely stay again.

We chose the place for its Jane Austen connection, and loved the historic decor. The rooms were still comfortable, the staff friendly and helpful, and breakfast was fantastic every morning. Our weekend in London here was amazing.

The people made our stay even more special. Ann is the heart of the operation, and her kindness and care made our conversations the highlights of our UK visit. Yanka was wonderful at breakfast and shared lots of travel tips. We loved talking with Larry, an exceptional chef with a real passion for cooking and such wide knowledge of food and more. Hamza was always ready to help and is a very intelligent young man. We're so happy with our stay and the people we met. The breakfast was the best we've had at any hotel, and the dining room itself is stunning. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with thoughtful design and everything working perfectly. There were even beautiful flowers in the room and bathroom. The bathroom was lovely, and the bathtub very comfortable. What struck us on arrival was the beautiful restoration of this historic property. It feels like living in a period house, with the furniture, artwork, cornices and period correct paint. We've agreed it's the best hotel we've ever stayed in. We couldn't get five star Rosewood to order flowers for us, despite their promise.

I was very disturbed by the manager's behavior during my stay in the hotel's main room. She kept knocking on my door and asking what she called “21 questions” about why I was in London, along with other inappropriate questions. I felt she was racially profiling me. I expect peace, privacy and respect from any hotel, especially a five star one where I personally paid over a thousand pounds. The other staff were polite, but the manager needs training or isn't suited to this kind of establishment. I stayed sometime in the past month, but would rather not say exactly when.
