Holiday Inn Express London Wandsworth by IHG

The room was warm, comfortable and quiet, with enough space to sit and get some work done. Parking is available outside for a fee, and the station is only a five-minute walk away. There’s also a Marks & Spencer’s in the petrol station next door, which came in handy. What really made my stay was the staff. Chris on reception went out of his way to help, and Dave from maintenance kept at the shower until the water pressure was sorted. Both had a great attitude. The free breakfast was good quality and a nice extra, too. I was impressed by how much I got for the price. I moved to another hotel afterwards that cost twice as much, and the service there felt transactional compared with the warmth and care here. This felt like five-star service at three-star prices. I’d absolutely recommend it and would come back.

Jake at reception was so warm, friendly and helpful during our stay. The room was a little dated, but clean and well looked after. Getting into central London was easy without taking the Underground. Wandsworth Town station is about a three-minute walk away, and Waterloo is four stops, roughly 16 minutes. The riverside part of Wandsworth also feels quieter and more local than central London. There’s a 24-hour supermarket right beside the hotel, handy for snacks, drinks and essentials. Breakfast was the weak spot. There wasn’t much choice, and the coffee wasn’t very good.

We came back for our second stay in just over two years and were happy with it again. The staff were welcoming, friendly and professional, and Luke greeted us most mornings with a cheerful, helpful manner. Breakfast was included and good. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location worked well for taking the Wandsworth Town Overland train to Waterloo. I’d recommend staying here.

We only used the car park, but I wanted to thank Prem from the Holidayinn staff. After our car window was smashed, we were stressed and upset. Prem was kind, understood how difficult it was, and helped us clear away the glass. His genuine kindness made us feel much better that day. Thanks, Prem.
