Hotel Indigo London Clerkenwell by IHG

Everything looked new and was in great condition. The hotel has a traditional London pub attached, plus a more modern lobby bar. Breakfast was good, and eggs were cooked to order once I asked. The location worked well for me: King's Cross is about 10 minutes by Tube, and Farringdon station is a 10-minute walk away. I'd definitely stay again.

The staff are the standout here, helpful and professional. Ope is a properly professional barman who makes the best cocktails, and the Charles Darby Sabini is especially worth trying. The rooms are really comfortable with lots of good workspaces, and breakfast was amazing, though the portions are small. There are plenty of other food choices too. The bar and restaurant have a variety of spaces to enjoy, and the hotel offers a very different experience if you're into architecture and design. Great design concepts. Strong recommendation for business or pleasure.

For an IHG hotel, this housekeeping standard was definitely not what I'd expect. We stayed four nights and the room was only cleaned once, after the first night. I spoke to reception after it was skipped the first time, raised it again after the second, and mentioned it once more at checkout. Everyone was polite and genuinely sorry, but nothing was done to fix the problem while we were there. The room itself was nice.

The bed was especially comfortable, and staff were professional and attentive from check-in through checkout. The property is in good shape, and the housekeeping and maintenance teams are clearly doing a good job. Another great, consistently good stay with IHG. I was there for just one night, but on a longer stay I'd appreciate the option to skip housekeeping in exchange for extra loyalty points.
