The external listed features and modern conference facilities make for an interesting combination, but the building didn’t meet my inclusion standards. The entrance has steep steps, the doors are stiff throughout, and the corridors are very chilly. Signage is so subtle that it could be missed entirely by someone with certain levels of visual impairment. The individual screens in the board room left me bemused and gave me a glimpse of how privileged some designers are. The high ceilings in the large open room create an echo, and there are no sound baffles to soften it or absorb the excited decibels from people seated at tables. I strongly recommend that facilities management look at the design for the Mindpas 6463 and make essential retrofits to improve inclusion. Some color here and there would help too, as would better lighting near the 100 best engineering inventions exhibition so the items are easier to see.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the day, and the food was great. I attended a conference here and was impressed by the building. I hope I get to visit again sometime.

The calm, soothing atmosphere makes this a good place to take a course, and the facilities are very good. I attended a conference recently, though, and think the institute should put more focus on Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to bring carbon down. Every guest received a lanyard. After the event, I tried to return mine to the staff at the gates, but they not very nicely told me to either take it or bin it. This place has 100's, if not 1000, conferences and training events per year, with an incredible number of attendees. All those lanyards and IDs end up in the bin instead of being recycled. The institute should work on reducing carbon by reusing, reducing, or recycling.

The Thames-side setting is a real highlight, and it’s a great place to step outside after an event for the riverside view. Inside, the classic-looking building has elegant, well-organized modern event spaces, professional AV, and clear sightlines that work well for talks and conferences. Staff are efficient and helpful, and the day runs smoothly from check-in to the finish. For a lecture, panel, or industry gathering, IET London: Savoy Place feels like a quality venue.

The cafe and member facilities are excellent, and there are great Engineering & Tech events here too. The Nordic-style decor is bright, the staff are welcoming, and the services are excellent.
