Kensington and Chelsea Apartment

The location is excellent, and the people at the Cromwell hotel let us check in early and check out late. They also kept our bags for a few hours on our last day. Our son had booked the apartment without checking reviews, and we were horrified when we arrived. There were three double beds, though we only used two. They were clean but worn. The flat itself was very dirty, old and shabby, and looked like it hadn’t been renovated since the 70s. It needs a deep clean, fresh paint and a carpenter. The whole building needs a major makeover too. At least two flats were being rented out on air, b&b, and they really need to make a better effort with the state of the place.

Dust everywhere, and it could use a serious clean. The location’s great and it’s pretty affordable, though.

It had heating and free Wi-Fi, and there was a shop nearby. The area wasn’t extremely loud, and it wasn’t on a busy road. The bathroom and bedsheets had clearly just been cleaned. I’ve seen a lot of reviews putting this place down, but for what I paid, it was incredible. It isn’t advertised as luxury, so that’s not what I expected.

I don’t usually complain, but this place was awful. Being close to the Royal Albert Hall was its only saving grace.
