Lucy and Dean are a real credit to the Lancaster Hotel. They’re professional and approachable, and it’s clear they care about people and take pride in their work. Both are kind, understanding and supportive, and willing to go the extra mile. Managers this dedicated are rare. A big thank you to them for the way they treat people and carry themselves.

Set on the Brunel university campus, this is a safe, clean and cozy place to stay. It’s economical rather than luxurious, and the rooms are compact, with a basic bed that’s a bit hard, a small flatscreen television, desk, coffee maker, lamp and basic toiletries. Nothing fancy, but enough for a day or two. Breakfast wasn’t included, while parking was free with registration. I’d rate it about three out of five.

The receptionist was lovely, and the location worked for us. But the room was incredibly tiny and seemed set up for just one guest, even though we booked a double for two. There was only one towel, one cup and so on, which was very strange. A lot of things were broken. The socket had huge cracks and couldn’t be used, and the broken window handle meant the window wouldn’t shut fully. A draught left the room freezing. It did the job, but unfortunately I wouldn’t stay again.
