MSK Hotel

We were really pleased with the room for the price, especially after paying a lot more for much smaller rooms in London just weeks earlier. The location was great, too. We left some belongings behind, and the hotel was very helpful while we arranged to collect them.

I booked this so-called 4-star hotel for the London weekend of August 30-31, 2025, and the room was nothing like the photos. It was on the ground floor facing a staircase, with a run-down bathroom covered in mold. The overall condition fell far short of what I’d expect from a 4-star place. I contacted Booking.com, and they called reception. Three staff members came to inspect what they called “dirt.” They spoke Arabic in front of me, clearly so I wouldn’t understand their discussion. I had to explain that my issue wasn’t cleanliness, the room itself didn’t match the pictures or the standard I expected. Reception refused to take responsibility and told me to deal with Booking.com. I left and booked another hotel. Booking.com asked the hotel to cancel and refund me on my behalf, but the hotel refused. No matter the category, you expect staff to try to give guests a good experience. Here, it seemed the guest was the problem. Don’t waste your time or money. Book somewhere else.

The room had good air conditioning and came with a kettle, hairdryer, fridge, iron, and ironing board. A few cracked tiles and a shower dispenser that wasn’t great were the only things that brought it down a little. The man at reception was friendly at both check-in and check-out. The location is great, and for what we paid in Central London, I’d stay again.

The location was really convenient, and our room was a decent size. We were very happy with our stay at MSK Hotel.
