NOX Kensington Hotel

There are plenty of good restaurants and shops within walking distance, and the station is close too. Westfield mall is about a 5-10 minute drive away. The price felt reasonable for London, and the staff were lovely and easy to talk to. We were happy overall, but the room had a few drawbacks. The bed was tiny, the pillows were awful, and they didn't replace the tea bags or coffee at all during our four days. The kitchenette was useful, though the layout could be better, with too few plugs and not much room to cook. We came for my birthday break and had to change rooms after they first put us in one that wasn't tidy, with hairs on the bed. Getting there meant climbing down steep, wet stairs, and our wet shoes made the floors dirty. The replacement was better, with larger windows, more space, and lots of natural light.

The kitchenette made it easy to have a quiet dinner in the room when we came back tired, then put the TV on and relax. It also had a toaster, kettle and coffee machine with capsules, so we could have breakfast before going out some mornings. Our room was peaceful, the bed was very comfortable, and we slept well each night. NOX Kensington was spotless and comfortable, with good transport links for getting around London. The whole stay was better than we'd expected, and we'd happily return. A 10/10 for us.

The staff were really friendly, and for the price and location this was good value. The place was clean, the bed was reasonably comfortable, and I slept well. It's about a ten-minute walk to the nearest Tube station. We were given a room across the road at number 83, rather than in the advertised building at 88 Holland Road. That didn't cause me much trouble, but anyone with mobility issues might find it inconvenient to go outside and cross the road to reach reception. The hotel might be able to accommodate those needs with a different room, but it's something to be aware of. The shower was frustrating to use because the bar that should hold the shower head in place was completely detached, so I had to hold it. Water pressure and temperature were fine. The TV also didn't work properly. I suspect the remote was the problem rather than the TV itself. For one night, it was still a decent place to stay. The shower and TV had issues, but the price and location were good.

Small room, but the bed was comfortable and the area was peaceful and quiet. Transport is a 10-15 minute walk away. I'd recommend it for a short stay, good value for the money.
