One Harrington Gardens

I'm a local, and hotel guests have been rude. Because of construction, they use the door to my pilates studio. They've walked into people and then accused them of not letting them go first. They don't respect personal space or show any etiquette. They should respect the neighbourhood.

This was our second stay at The Harrington, and by coincidence we were in the same apartment as three years ago. It was spotlessly clean and serviced daily, with everything we needed. The facilities, staff, and service were excellent again. There are restaurants and pubs all around, and the Underground is about 150 metres away. We'll definitely stay again if we return to London. Highly recommend.

Over our four nights at The Harrington Hotel, issue after issue went unaddressed. The air conditioning in one bedroom didn't work. We reported it and were told a technician would come the next day, but nobody came, so we slept with the window open and couldn't control the temperature. The apartment's main door also had an inside lock that couldn't be used. Staff said they'd check and fix it the next day, but nothing happened and no one followed up. That was a serious safety concern. The windows wouldn't close properly, leaving a visible gap. We could hear traffic and people outside all night, making it hard to sleep. We left at 8 AM with the "Make Up Room" sign on the door. When we got back at 2 PM, the room hadn't been cleaned. The housekeeper said it had been serviced. We showed reception a photo and asked if that was the hotel's housekeeping standard. They only agreed to send someone after we insisted. The bathroom had no handheld shower, only a rain shower with extremely low pressure, and the toilet's height and structure weren't suitable for children. Staff were unfriendly and inattentive from check-in to check-out, and we never felt welcome or properly helped. Over all four nights, the sheets and pillowcases weren't changed. Our child has a dust mite allergy and woke each morning with itchy, irritated skin, which raised serious concerns about hygiene and room maintenance. The listing called it a "2-bedroom apartment" suitable for four adults, but one bed was only 4 feet wide, far smaller than a standard double and unsuitable for two adults. The layout didn't fit the capacity advertised. For a property listed as 4-star on Google, the outdated facilities and lack of basic hospitality felt more like a hostel than a hotel. We found the stay deeply unsatisfactory and would strongly advise others to avoid it, especially families or anyone expecting a safe, clean, professionally managed place.

The 24/7 front desk was important for us, and the location was great. We had a very nice 10-night stay in these serviced apartments. Everything was clean, tidy, comfortable, and well maintained, and the hotel staff were friendly and attentive. Thanks, Harrington!
