The bedding had stains and hair on it, and the bathroom was filthy, with broken or badly kept fixtures. The kitchen was dirty too and had none of the basic utensils you’d expect. Add the strong smell, general disrepair, and guests in nearby rooms making noise late at night. Easily the worst place I’ve ever stayed. Don’t book it.

Someone tried our door at 5am. My husband and I woke up as it opened, even though we thought it was locked, then whoever it was shut it quickly after realizing we’d noticed. The locks didn’t feel reliable, and we didn’t feel safe. There were ants in our room as well. The noise was relentless, with people talking loudly and yelling at odd hours. I’ve travelled all over Europe, and this was the loudest accommodation I’ve stayed in. Seriously, don’t stay here.

If you can sleep with earplugs, I’d recommend the place. The price is very good, it’s close to both the tube and overground, and the room temperature was just right. The bathroom and kitchen were clean and in very good shape, with decent kitchen facilities. Broadband was fair and communication with the manager was excellent. The rooms are dated, though refurbished as well as they can be, and the front door might put you off at first. Soundproofing is almost nonexistent. You can hear the stairway through the poorly sealed room door, with light coming through its gaps. The cheaply built wall between rooms 10 and 9 lets through conversations, pumps, heaters, chairs, toilet flushes, and showers.

I was extremely disappointed and horrified by this place. The entrance hall was disgustingly dirty, and the property seemed neglected inside and out. The room smelled awful, there was damp and mould in the kitchen, and both the kitchen cupboard and the other so-called cupboard were broken. The location was terrible, too. The owner was very unfriendly and charged more than the prices shown on both his website and Bookings.com. Between the company and Bookings.com, I found the information misleading and felt there was no truth in what they presented. It wasn’t value for money at all. The pictures are there to see, but I’d say avoid this accommodation and stay away.
