OYO Flagship London Finchley

The staff were very good and polite, and the bed was comfortable, with generally clean surfaces. The location suited my needs, with a cinema, bowling, food outlets and leisure centre nearby. Still, calling it a Flagship hotel feels like a stretch. The carpets were stained in the room and corridors, the lift sounded ready to give up, and tape was holding the shower together. There was some mould in the bathroom and cracked tiles.

We got a quiet room and slept well on a really comfortable bed. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, especially the “bald headed man,” as he described himself! It was a bargain at under £70 for a Saturday night, and the bus stops are very close.

We paid £50 a night, which felt like a steal, and would happily stay again. We were there for a gig at Alexandra Palace, and the location worked well, with McDonald's, a bowling alley, Wagamamas, pizza hut and an Italian right next door. The bar and restaurant downstairs were really nice, drinks were reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly. The rooms are a bit dated, but that didn't put us off. Everything worked and was clean, which matters most. I'd recommend it.

I got a pretty good deal, since prices seem to change a lot. The room was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of room for a longer stay, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Check-in was quick and efficient. It's a budget-friendly option if you need somewhere reliable and unpretentious. There's a cinema, bowling alley and the usual restaurants in the entertainment complex next door. A bus stop is a minute away, and West Finchley tube is a 20-minute walk through a reasonable neighbourhood. The downsides were traffic and loud voices coming through the windows, just one room refresh during my week-long stay, and poor shower pressure and temperature. Still, it's better than some reviews suggest, and I'd recommend it on a budget.
