For such a low price, I could put up with problems (1) through (5), but the last one, (6), was beyond what I could understand, even on humanitarian grounds. The worst part was what happened one night. The building's outside door was already a little difficult to unlock, probably because the door and lock were old. Another guest turned their key too hard and it snapped, leaving a piece stuck in the lock. When I came back that night, I couldn't put my key in. Support told me there were no other OYO rooms nearby, so I'd have to find a hotel myself, and the staff member had no authority to reimburse that cost. They offered a discount or coupon for a future OYO stay instead. I was furious, wondering if I had to wait outside in the London winter for eight hours or more until sunrise, with my phone battery nearly dead. I hung up in despair, found a thin wire at a roadside rubbish collection point, and managed to dig the broken key piece out myself. That let me get inside. The support staff were always polite, but in my experience they never offered a solution. The other issues were also difficult. Guests had to collect and return the key at an OYO-designated shop half a mile away, something that wasn't clear when I booked. I had to walk there carrying my heavy suitcase. The property had six rooms but only two bathrooms, and one of them was terrible and had no soap. My room had several defects: one window knob was broken, so I couldn't close the window in London's cold, rainy winter. I leaned out of another window on the third floor to shut it from outside, which felt a bit dangerous. I don't know the cleaning schedule, but the bathroom toilet rolls ran out in a day, so I had to buy several myself. There was one washing machine and one dryer, but the dryer was broken.
