Bankside suited us really well. Borough Market and several metro stops were easy to walk to, and Big Ben and other major sights were reachable on foot too if you don't mind a longer walk. The area felt like a break from the crowded, touristy chaos of places like SoHo. We were very happy overall with the premium one-bedroom apartment. It was incredibly spacious by London standards, with a large fridge, washer/dryer, and other useful amenities. There were even two bathrooms, which I don't think was advertised and was a nice surprise. The bed was comfortable and the linens looked very clean. Check-in was quick and easy; we filled in some details online beforehand, which I suspect helped. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There isn't daily room cleaning, though someone did bring fresh towels each day. We had a couple of minor issues, some dust in the corners and one bathroom shower that wouldn't get hot, but they were negligible in the bigger picture. I'd definitely stay here again if I get back to London.

The front desk helped with extra sheets and towels, and booked us a car to the airport. We spent a couple of nights here on our London trip and were quite happy with our choice. The location worked well for Borough Market and other sights. There was plenty of space, with two large comfortable beds and a living and dining area downstairs with a kitchen. One shower needed fixing, and after the repair the room was left with dirty shoe prints. The Wi-Fi and AC were both variable.

The room was dirty and smelled like wet dog, with dog hair on the bedding and stains on the furniture. Check-in took me 50 minutes. The staff were pleasant enough, but there weren't enough of them during busy times. I used to find quiet rooms at Bankside, but that hasn't been the case lately. My last three stays were very poor: the air-conditioning units made noise all night, and the broken air conditioning left the room either freezing or boiling. The electrics were damaged too, so the main light suddenly came on three times during the night and early morning. I wouldn't stay again.

There are plenty of ways to explore nearby: Blackfriars Thameslink is a short walk away, and you can cross millennium bridge near St Pauls cathedral. Burroughs Market and Yard are close, with lots of places to shop and eat. Shakespeare's Globe is around the corner, and the Uber Boat pier is less than a five-minute walk away. The area itself is quiet and comfortable. The aparthotel has a kitchenette for small meals, a combination washer/dryer, and nice-smelling toiletries. Wi-Fi is free and strong, though the TV only has local channels, no Netflix. Some things in the room were broken, but after I complained they responded promptly and moved me as soon as they could. The front desk staff were polite and very nice. Overall, it's a nice spot.
