It was easy to get to the tube, train and bus stations, and the hotel’s location was very good. But we were really disappointed by the room’s condition and cleanliness. The room was standard and had a bathtub, but the bathroom wasn’t clean enough. The tub was very slippery and felt unsafe. There was no toilet brush, and the toilet paper was just thin, napkin-like paper you might find in a public toilet. The towels smelled odd, as if they hadn’t been washed properly. The duvet had several awful stains that looked like blood or other bodily fluids. If they were, it should have been replaced. Dust was scattered around the room, and there were stains on the walls. We needed fresh air, but the window wouldn’t open and the air conditioning wasn’t enough. I asked for the room to be cleaned during our stay, but it wasn’t done. We were there for only two nights, but still expected basic cleanliness and service. We left very disappointed.

The other guests were extremely noisy, making it hard to sleep and even to eat in the restaurant. It shouldn’t be my job to tell other guests to be quiet and respectful. I repeatedly told staff, as instructed, to clean my room before noon, but it was cleaned only once in seven days. The towels smelled bad, and even after the room was supposedly cleaned, it still wasn’t properly clean. One day I spoke directly to the manager, clearly said I needed the room cleaned and fresh towels, and was assured it would be done. The next day it still hadn’t been cleaned. When I complained again, staff asked whether I’d told them before noon, even though I’d already spoken to the manager. I felt completely ignored. The manager showed poor management and a lack of professionalism. I know this is a three-star hotel, but that doesn’t make it okay to clean a room once a week or leave guests begging every day for clean towels and basic service. These should be standard.

The location is very good, but service was almost nonexistent. We stayed five nights in two family rooms, and neither room was cleaned. They were small and had no wardrobes. I asked the maid in the hallway for clean towels and ended up getting them myself. The windows don’t open, so there’s a disgusting smell in the rooms and hallways. There was no one at reception, and I didn’t see anyone there throughout our five days.

The one hiccup was at check-in, when they initially couldn’t find the payment I’d made through Hotels.com and said it hadn’t been paid. They checked again and confirmed it. Besides that, we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is well located, comfortable, and the room was very clean. We’d definitely choose Premier Inn hotels again if we visit London.

The girls serving us in the bar area late in the evening were great. They brought over our drinks and were friendly and polite. It’s a pity the rest of the staff weren’t like them. The man who helped us check in was hard work and difficult to understand, and at breakfast he seemed a bit rude, as did the girl who took our breakfast payment. We stayed Saturday 13th to Sunday 14th. The location suited what we needed, and we could drop our bags before check-in. Our room was clean as always, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast tasted good, but there wasn’t much of it and it wasn’t replenished quickly, so people had to wait for more.
