Breakfast was pretty average, and I would've preferred still water to the fizzy water left in the fridge. Those were small niggles, though. I got a good deal through a third-party site, and at that price I'd definitely stay again. The room and bathroom felt classy and comfortable, and it was surprisingly quiet for the middle of town. My room looked onto the inner courtyard, so with the window open I only heard the hum of the air-conditioning units. Check-in was great too.
The location is the main draw. The hotel is steps from the British Museum and close to Tottenham Court Road station, where you can catch the Elizabeth Line to Heathrow. Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, the National Gallery, Soho, the Theatre District, and Oxford Street are all within reasonable walking distance. I'd return for the location and service. I stayed for a week. My room was modest in size, as you'd expect in central London, but comfortable and properly equipped. The buffet breakfast was very good, with lots of hot options and à la carte dishes such as French toast and eggs Benedict. The staff I met were friendly, professional, and happy to help. Anjana and Geethika were especially efficient in the restaurant, and concierge Michael was welcoming and cordial. Highly recommended.
If you need to be near the offices, the location is excellent. But for the price, I found it hard to justify staying here when getting proper rest was so difficult. It feels like the hotel relies on business travelers who need to be close by more than on the quality of the rooms. Noise was the biggest problem. A high-pitched sound from the corridor elevator continued constantly, and I could hear people in the hallway and neighboring rooms day and night. The poorly insulated windows let in more noise and made the room feel cold. Sleeping was very difficult. The building is old, and the room felt dated. The bathroom, especially the toilet, badly needs renovation. The hotel would benefit from general updates, but sound insulation most of all.
The gym's not much use for strength training, it's basically just treadmills. Breakfast is good, though the staff clear things from the table so quickly that I was afraid to leave anything there. The hotel itself is fresh and nice inside, in a good location. The exterior gives a different impression.
The people here really cared about making sure our needs were met, and the bar was a highlight. The bartender was great to talk with, and the house-made drinks were a treat, a nice change from the pubs around London. The building could use an update, but the staff's effort to make our stay enjoyable was awesome. It's easy to get to the Tube or walk to many major attractions, so it's a great place to see London. We'll definitely stay here again when we return.
