St Christopher's Village, London Bridge - Hostel

There was a good sense of community here, with friendly staff and plenty of other welcoming guests. Elize also let me leave my things at reception for a little while after checkout, which I appreciated. The hostel offered different activities, and the bar stayed open late with good drink discounts. It was a fun place to spend the evening. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and each pod bed had a curtain for privacy. The hostel is spacious, with a large check-in area, a full bar, and an upstairs kitchen and lounge area with a terrace. Staff were helpful with my questions and provided great service. It’s affordable and well kept. I’d recommend St Christopher’s Inn London Bridge to people visiting London.

I wouldn’t stay here again. I booked the more expensive capsule room for privacy and comfort, but the pub’s bass downstairs carried through the bed and room until around 2am. The earplugs did nothing for the vibrations, and sleep was almost impossible. Reception queues were often long, and there’s no shared kitchen or proper daytime communal space, so people mostly stay in their capsules instead of socialising. The cleaning staff also struck me as rude and unprofessional. They were often talking among themselves in languages other than English, and I overheard Spanish comments about someone or something nearby that felt inappropriate. The location is excellent, a short walk from London Bridge. It was clean enough and reasonably priced by London standards, and the capsule beds seem like a good idea for privacy. But that doesn’t help much if you can’t rest.

The main downside was the bar music. On the first floor I could hear it and feel the vibrations, though the earplugs I brought helped a lot. The bar is open every evening, so be prepared for that. Otherwise, the location is great for the underground and you can walk to central London. Tate Modern and Shakespeare Globe were very close. The 21-person room had enough space and didn’t feel too cramped, with a locker for each bed. Bathrooms and toilets were clean, and the water pressure was good.

Jordan and Porter looked after my two friends and me so well. I left my Kindle on the flight over, and Jordan spent the morning helping me call the airline and making sure I was okay. Thanks to you both, we had a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely come back someday soon 😋
