Sunborn London

We chose this for our first anniversary and had a lovely time. The spacious room was comfortable for a great night's sleep, and the lobby is gorgeous. We arrived an hour before check-in, left our bags at reception, and enjoyed a drink at the bar. Check-in itself was easy. Our package included a three-course dinner with a drink, plus breakfast. The food was lovely: arancini and duck roulade to start, lobster tagliatelle and steak for mains, then apple crumble and chocolate fondant. Service was very slow, though. The restaurant didn't look especially busy, but we waited a long time to order and had to ask twice for the included drink. The food made up for some of the delay. Breakfast the next morning was brilliant, with a great selection, though the scrambled eggs were too runny for me. It was a special and unusual way to celebrate, and I think we'd book again.

I slept really well in the clean, spacious and quiet bedroom. The security measures also made me feel good, since visitors can't get through to the rooms. The staff made us feel special, and I especially enjoyed the English afternoon tea and the generous buffet breakfasts, which were well cooked. I'd definitely like to come back sometime.

I didn't stay overnight, just came in for a drink on the terraces. The river and the o2 looked beautiful from there, and the drinks were great. Inside, the decor has a lovely feel, kind of like a luxury cocktail bar from the 80s, though that's just my taste. The toilets were immaculately clean too, which matters!

My daughter and I had a wonderful time for her 18th. The room was gorgeous and spotless, and when we arrived, a really lovely man at reception checked us in, showed us the way and told us about sundowner bar. We left our cases and went out in the sunshine for pizza, which was so good. The waiting staff were so helpful. We took the cable car to the O2 that evening. Customs House station is only a short walk away, so getting around was easy. We loved the stay, and it made her birthday feel really special. Thank you.
