The Albert rooms

The atmosphere is relaxed and modern, and there’s a great range of drinks at reasonable prices. The service was friendly, welcoming and engaging. I only stopped for a quick drink and didn’t get to try the food, sadly. It’s a little walk from the centre, but worth a visit.

We’ll definitely be back, and I’d recommend it. The downstairs bar is small, with more seating upstairs, and there’s parking out the back. We also loved the country background music. Service was impeccable: the food came out fast and piping hot, and drinks were brought to the table. We ordered the Sunday roast sharing board, which happily serves three, with turkey and two other meats of your choice. We chose lamb and gammon. The turkey was amazing and the gammon delicious, though the lamb was a bit fatty. The roast potatoes were amazing, and the homemade Yorkshires and fresh vegetables came with excellent gravy. The pigs in blankets are massive, just a warning. We were too full for dessert, though they looked good. We started with lovely French onion soup and BBQ pork burnt ends, but the pork was a little tough. I was initially surprised by the artwork for sale, but don’t let that put you off the delicious food. I came back this time for the smoked meat menu, and the turkey, ribs and pulled pork were amazing. I also booked for Mother's Day and was delighted by how good the food and service were. Mum loves it here now!

Alex and the team were brilliant for our Mum’s 70th birthday in the Prince Albert's function room. The staff were all lovely, the buffet was delicious, and the DJ they recommended was fab. Highly recommend!

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was really nice. We’re so glad we found this place. The food was outstanding, and we’ll come back as often as we can. Couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
