A handy spot near work for an overnight visit. The single bed was very comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were clean, with a good hot shower and no queues or trouble. It was quiet, and having a bar downstairs with delicious food was ideal. I’d recommend it and will come back.

The pub pizza was extraordinarily tasty, and I’d stay again if I needed to be in this part of London. The room was spacious and clean, though everything felt old. Still, it was fine for one night. The shared toilet was expected. It was an interesting stay, and the place was easy to find.

We tried both steak dishes, one each, and they were the best steaks we’ve had in London. It’s a great neighbourhood find, with fair prices, lovely service and food that melts in your mouth.

The Grange Pub pairs Victorian character with a modern gastropub menu. It’s a relaxed place for lunch, a Sunday roast or an evening pint, and locals come for the hearty food and welcoming staff. The choices range from beef, chicken or nut roasts with crisp potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and rich gravy to burgers and steaks with chunky chips. There’s also battered fish with mushy peas, plus seasonal pies, risottos and vegetarian dishes. For dessert, expect things like sticky toffee pudding, crumble and chocolate fondant.

Their homemade tomato juice makes a fantastic Bloody Mary or Red Snapper, and the pizzas are great too. A lovely place to settle in for a drink or enjoy the food.
