The Rubens at the Palace Apartments

The room was clean and had all the amenities I needed, and breakfast was fantastic. There were plenty of staff around whenever help was needed, and everyone was courteous. Robert, the doorman, deserves a special mention for being respectful, pleasant, and so focused on guests. Highly recommended.

Our room looked out over the Royal Mews, which we loved. It was also easy to control the thermostat, and the air conditioning worked really well. The hotel was impressively clean throughout, including our room and the bathroom below the tea room. We stayed four nights and found the staff friendly and accommodating at every turn. The location made it easy to get to Victoria Underground, the Victoria Theater, Apollo theater, and some great restaurants within minutes. We really appreciated the special treatment and would consider staying here again when we're back in London.

What stood out most was the service. The doorman, front desk, and restaurant staff were all attentive and accommodating, sometimes almost more than you'd expect, but in a lovely way. It felt close to royal treatment, and may have been the best service I've had while traveling. Our room overlooked the palace, giving the stay a special feel. The Rubens at the Palace is right in the middle of things, yet feels tucked away. It has a classic, traditional look and is an older property, but makes good use of its space. Our room was cozy, a good size, comfortable, and well put together. We had a fantastic time in London, and the location, charm, and service make this a great choice.

The royal afternoon tea was such a lovely experience. It definitely isn't cheap, but there was lots of tasty, fine food, a broad range of teas, and great waitresses. We loved our time there, and ate enough that we didn't need lunch or breakfast that day.
