The Wesley Camden Town

Rooms are small, with beds no wider than 1.4m, but they’re still functional. The bathroom is compact, well planned, and very clean. There’s no breakfast or bar, though reception is staffed around the clock. Part of the lobby was being renovated while we were there. A clean, modern, well-run place in a perfect Camden location for business or leisure, and a nice, safe spot to sleep.

I paid for two nights and was turned away at check-in because I’m under 18. I’m 17 and will turn 18 in a few months, but the whole situation was handled very poorly. As an international student, I was lucky to have an uncle nearby to call. I keep wondering what I would have done if I’d travelled to London alone with no family around. My father spoke with the staff to try to sort it out, but they offered no reasonable solution or flexibility. They told my uncle he would have to sleep in the same room as me, which felt very uncomfortable and inappropriate. The under-18 rule also wasn’t clearly highlighted during booking. If minors can’t stay alone, that needs to be stated clearly before people pay. I wasn’t offered a refund, even though I didn’t stay a single night. A very frustrating and unpleasant experience.

The room was large, comfortable, and well designed, with proper coat hangers and working air conditioning. The shower room was small but didn’t feel cramped. Spotlessly clean, with efficient, unobtrusive housekeeping. The location is excellent and good value for London. There’s no food served in-house, but lots of restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby. WiFi worked well for getting work done. Staff were friendly, though there weren’t many of them.

Staff were excellent, and there’s free tea and coffee at reception. The room was clean and comfortable without feeling too small. Bathroom was clean and the shower nice and warm. Fantastic stay!
