Tooting Stays

It's about a ten-minute walk to the underground and shops. The house hotel itself is lovely, with cosy, modern rooms that were clean, and the shared bathroom was clean too with a lovely shower. The bedroom and front doors use passcodes; a bit confusing at first, but easy enough to get the hang of. The other guests were nice and quiet, and the shared kitchen had cereal stocked.

We paid for somewhere clean and safe, then were left with extra costs after finding another hotel within 20 minutes. There was no understanding or offer to compromise, and we heard nothing more. For us, it was one of the worst accommodation experiences we've had. If cleanliness, safety and reliable service matter to you, I'd stay away and save yourself the stress and money. The building looked neglected and littered from outside, and the entrance felt run-down. In the stairwell, there was a pungent stench that took your breath away. Inside the room, there was dirt, dust and stains everywhere, as though it hadn't had a thorough clean in a long time. The doors felt flimsy enough to open with a slight tug, despite the code system, so they didn't make us feel secure. The bathroom was revolting, with dirty surfaces and stains, and looked nothing like the listing photos, which felt misleading. When we called the landlord in the early evening, no one picked up. We got a short WhatsApp message saying nothing could be done. When we said we couldn't stay in those conditions, they basically said we must have different standards. Incredible audacity.
