West End One Apartments

The location is hard to beat, right by Trafalgar Square and close to Soho, Chinatown, and Piccadilly, so it’s easy to get around. The apartment is nicely furnished and decorated, comfortable in temperature, with a firm, comfortable bed and a very well stocked kitchen. I’d be happy staying here for a night or a year. There were a couple of hassles. I booked through Expedia and was asked to email a copy of my passport and credit card. I wasn’t comfortable sending those electronically, so I called and went to the head office to show them in person. Management was accommodating and respected my choice, but making that trip was inconvenient. The washing machine was another issue. There were no instructions, and the settings weren’t what I expected. Following the diagram, a small load took three hours to wash. The dryer setting then took five and a half hours, and the clothes were still wet. My knit shirt was so damp I had to lay it in the sun until I could wear it. Since my last-minute booking followed a schedule change and I had no extra clothes, management extended my stay, which I appreciated. Still, I had to leave in wet clothes and cancel an appointment. I’d book here again, but I wouldn’t do laundry before an early appointment. Hopefully they sort out the machine.
