We were let down by the room and the service. The ventilation barely worked, so it was uncomfortable, and despite requesting three separate beds we got a fixed double plus two poor-quality extra beds that were hard to sleep on. We arrived at 14:35, just 25 minutes before the 15:00 check-in time. They wanted another £15 to let us in early, which felt unreasonable and made a very bad first impression. Several staff members also came across as unfriendly and dismissive, with little interest in helping us feel welcome. From beginning to end, the room, service, and customer care were below expectations. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend the hotel.

We had breakfast here and thought it was good. There’s also 24-hour pizza, handy if you’re staying overnight. The family room we stayed in was the one pictured, with a pull-out mattress tucked under the double bed. The rooms were clean, and the staff were lovely and kind, especially Estelle on reception. It was an affordable, convenient place to sleep close to central London. Would I come again? Yes.

The staff were lovely and friendly, and the room was clean. There was plenty of parking, and the location worked well for the tube and other transport. I left my coat behind, and the staff posted it back to me free of charge. Very happy 😊

The staff did try to help, but the options they offered weren’t suitable for someone staying overnight. We were told we could stay in the room and they would “try” to get us out the next morning, which we refused in case of a fire. The other suggestion was to leave the door on the latch while we slept so it wouldn’t close. We were in town for a nearby music festival. After a previous late check-in had resulted in our room being given away and us having nowhere to stay, we went in early that morning to confirm we were definitely coming, though we’d arrive to check in later that evening. Staff were helpful then. But when we came back for the keys, we couldn’t open the room door. A desk attendant tried too and struggled. We eventually got inside, then they wanted to test the door again, and we ended up trapped in the room for 30 minutes.

The shops and cafes nearby were a real plus. M&S Food is just around the corner, and hairdressers, Waitrose, and Boots are about a five-minute walk away. The rooms were clean and nice, in the usual Travelodge style, with plenty of tea, coffee, towels, and extra pillows. Room 328, though, smelled so awful from what seemed to be a plumbing problem in the bathroom that the odor spread through the room and made us nauseous and ill. We had to wait for another room to become available and move to 327 next door, instead of going out for breakfast. That room was fine and had no smell. The whole thing disrupted our London stay. The next morning, the assistant manager Li**a was rude and dismissive when we raised the issue, and made us feel unwelcome, so we planned to make a formal complaint. At checkout we spoke with Manager Cl***ia, who listened to us, and we decided to drop the complaint. That’s why we’ve given a more neutral rating.
