I’m reviewing the restaurant only, not the hotel. Service was outstanding, quick, and the staff were lovely. The duck salad was alright, but the duck itself was crispy and really flavourful, so I’d have it again. The fried cauliflower was bland despite the spices, and could’ve used a dip or sauce. The kids’ food was bland too, though that wasn’t because it lacked salt. I wish I’d ordered pizza. My friends had burgers and said they were decent.

This is a restaurant review, not one of the hotel. I wonder if there’s a reason the restaurant can’t be reviewed, maybe because the truth hurts. I can’t believe Gordon Ramsey still puts his name to this place. The seasonal set menu turned into a muddle. Staff didn’t seem to know about the specials board outside, which had been there for at least a few days when I first noticed it and was still there today. When I asked about the menu, they said it finished at 6pm, even though the sign said otherwise and it was only 7pm on a Monday. Then they brought us the seasonal menu and said we could still order. It listed two courses for £19.50. I checked the price with the waiter, who got the manager. He said the sign out front was incorrect, though it looked pretty professional and intentional, and that we’d be charged the £19.50 shown on the menu. I complained and he said what he could do. The food was bad anyway. The wings had far too much sauce, as if something was being disguised. The cauliflower was watery and nearly tasteless, and so was the fish main. I really think Gordon should spot-check his own venues instead of going on TV complaining about other people’s restaurants.

The restaurant bar had a great atmosphere and the food was delicious, even though you wouldn’t guess from outside that it was a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. We had a lovely dinner after a trip to London with my child. Service was quick and fantastic, with attentive, friendly staff. The roasted cod was lovely, and my young child had a burger. Kids eat free with an adult meal. It’s a nice place to dine near Regents Park and Camden, and I’d recommend it.

The three-course set menu was very well done: good portion sizes, lovely presentation and great flavour. By London standards, the price wasn’t too silly. The bar’s soft green walls, subtle lighting and vintage-style velvet and leather seats made for tasteful decor. The layout gave diners enough space to enjoy the atmosphere without unwanted intrusion. My friend and I came last night and left pleasantly surprised. The service was perfect from the moment we arrived until we left. I’d absolutely go again and recommend it.
