The rooms were clean and fresh, with a good TV signal, OK WiFi and a really powerful shower. Staff were friendly, and the home cooked food and breakfast were lovely and locally sourced. It's a nice village with good views, and the only pub in the village that's open. The downside is the busy main road outside. Cars and trucks pass all day and night, and you can hear them from room 5.

Friendly staff and a good breakfast, plus the location works well for heading into the dales. The family room is next to the road, so double glazing would help block the traffic noise and keep the heat in. Like other reviewers, I think the place needs a good refurbishment.

A proper old school boozer that gets two things right: good cask beer and generous portions of pub food. The staff are lovely too.

The exterior looks lovely, but there were no opening hours posted. With no signal in the area, I couldn't find out whether it was open.

We enjoyed our two night stay. The accommodation was really good, comfortable and clean. The macerator toilet seemed to have a mind of its own, but it wasn't noisy enough to be a problem. The pub is a little tired, though most of the staff are cheerful and hard working, the beers are good, and the food is good. We joined the Friday quiz, which was great fun, if a bit complicated.
