The waits were awful: an hour for starters, then another hour for mains, and the food wasn’t worth it. So much on the menu was unavailable that two of us had breakfast and another had to choose from the children’s menu. The waitress couldn’t tell us what lager they had, either. We came for a family lunch, and the whole experience was dreadful. The pub needs serious TLC, the decor is old, and the entrance stank of cigarettes. Then they had the cheek to add a service charge. It was empty, and I can see why. We’ll never go again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The staff were friendly, but the food was such a letdown. The Sunday lunch was tiny, the batter was terrible, and the vegetables were solid. Our daughter saw the meat being reheated as she walked past the kitchen, and it had the texture of leather. We’d enjoyed the food here in the past, so I don’t know whether the chef or owners have changed. Either way, we won’t be back.

The Sunday roast was delicious, and at £10 it came with free cauliflower cheese. Lovely pub food and great, really helpful staff. Recommend.

My husband and I had Sunday lunch here recently, and the meat seemed top quality. The roast potatoes were divine. It’s a lovely little country pub with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. We’ll definitely be back.

I hadn’t been here for a while, but I’m glad we came back. The homemade scotch eggs with mustard mayonnaise base were really good. Lovely atmosphere, nice food, and very pleasant staff. I’ll definitely be back.
