Rivercroft Hotel

The top-floor room looked over the harbour, a fantastic view morning and night. It was spacious and clean, with a lovely big ensuite bathroom. The hotel is close to the beach, arcade and other Looe amenities. Staff were all so welcoming and friendly, especially Lulu the bar man, who is just fabulous. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choice and generous portions. We went out each night instead of having dinner there, but I’m sure that would be just as good. We had a fabulous stay last summer and hope to return. I’d recommend it 100%.

The price was great and the hotel is close to the village. There are lots of steps and it’s all uphill, so the location isn’t suitable for someone with accessibility issues. I wasn’t offered help with my bags and struggled to get them upstairs to my room. The view from my room wasn’t great, and builders greeted me in the morning. The bathroom was really small. I stayed in 2019.

The owners were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. It’s a lovely family-run business, and I’d definitely return. My room was comfortable and well decorated, the bed extremely comfy, and breakfast had an excellent choice.

We came for dinner rather than staying at the hotel, and the meal was absolutely delicious. The Scallops & Chorizo starter was a particular highlight. Tamsin seemed to be handling the floor on her own, yet she kept every order in hand and service was very efficient. We also caught a beautiful sunset while we were there. Would definitely recommend.
