We came because friends had recommended this pub. There’s lots of parking and EV chargers, which was a pleasant surprise, and the manager, I assume, and staff gave us a warm welcome. We ordered drinks and were seated quickly. The room was nicely decorated and had a good atmosphere, although it was a little cool. The beef roast arrived surprisingly fast. It looked well presented, but the plate was swimming in gravy that tasted like basic Bisto. I’d have preferred it served on the side so I could choose how much to add. The vegetables still had a bit of crunch, which was good. Some of the beef was lovely and medium rare, but there was a lot of sinew and fat to work around. The roast potatoes looked nicely cooked, though they’d softened under the beef instead of staying crunchy. The biggest problem was that the meal was only just warm. In the cool room, I rushed through it before it got colder. Nobody checked in with us, so I couldn’t raise it then or give them a chance to fix it. When I mentioned it as the bill came, they kindly took 30% off without question. At £24 per roast, I’d have been happier paying £18, which is roughly what it came to after the discount. We only came for food, so I gave the rooms one star because I didn’t see one.

Phil made us feel very welcome when we arrived to drop off my parents and their friends for an 80th birthday overnight stay and dinner. He was attentive and down to earth, and made me feel comfortable leaving them there. I already know the service and food are amazing, as this is our usual family celebration place. The rooms are lovely, spacious, and feel like home. Five stars from us, always. ❤️

Everything went smoothly from the start when our family booked an event here and I arranged rooms for relatives. Communication was excellent, and the staff handled several people checking in at once with ease and warmth. Everyone who had a room was impressed by how lovely they were. Having a door from the rooms straight out to the event hall was handy, with no need to queue for the loo. Breakfast was arranged so we could all sit together. The food and service were wonderful, and it’s a great venue. Thank you to everyone.

We had a fantastic New Year event. The food was superb, the room was just right for staying overnight, and the bed was so comfortable. Every member of staff was amazing and worked incredibly hard all night. It was the best New Year we’ve had in a long time.

We’d never eaten here before, but we’ll definitely come back. The meals were delicious, and the vegan bourguignon was the best vegan dish I’ve had locally in ages. The atmosphere was lively, the place looked gorgeous, and the staff were really friendly. Thanks, everyone.
