Back at Keswick Park for business, and once again had a brilliant room and hotel, excellent staff, and very good food. The Sunday dinner was superb, and I’d highly recommend staying here. A special thanks to Gavin for outstanding service. He was extremely polite and a credit to the team. Brian made sure I had everything I needed during my restaurant meal, which I appreciated, and Tracy at reception was very helpful and efficient.

The spa was amazing, and we loved spending 11am to 5pm there during our overnight stay at Kenwick Park. The one hiccup was that my pre-ordered, confirmed gluten-free lunch arrived and wasn’t GF. The waitress apologized, replaced it, and offered complimentary drinks. We checked into our room at 5pm. We’re fussy about cleanliness, but the room wasn’t up to the standard we expected from a 4-star hotel. The restaurant caters well for gluten-free food, though I was surprised they didn’t have gluten-free cereals. We had a good stay overall, but the room cleaning staff need to do a better job.

The breakfast was up to the usual British hotel standard, and the ladies serving were attentive and happy to help. The room was lovely and clean, with a comfortable bed and a view over the front grounds. There wasn’t a mirror on the dressing table. All in all, very good. Thanks.

The hotel is lovely and the grounds are beautiful, especially for golf. But when I asked a male staff member why the rooms don’t have water and a fridge, he told me I should have booked a different room. I explained that I’m diabetic and wanted a fridge to keep my insulin cold, as well as water. So I ended up paying £5.85 for a bottle of water. I said I’d put this on TripAdvisor, and he replied, "Oh no know reads thst anyway".

We were staying nearby and meant to stop at the golf club for an afternoon latte, but accidentally went into the hotel instead. Turned out to be lucky. It’s a lovely spot for a latte and then a few pints, with lovely staff. We sat looking out at the bandstand garden, watching a magpie try to pinch food from the squirrels. Very entertaining. They also hold weddings here, as the photos show.
