The tasting menu at Old Downton was a brilliant way to celebrate my birthday. Every course was just right, and the quality of the locally sourced ingredients really stood out. The staff were courteous, professional and knew their stuff. The chef's skill and the sommelier's passion made it one of the most memorable meals we've had. We feel lucky to have this restaurant nearby and will be back soon.

We love sitting in the courtyard before or after dinner, and the cottage garden is so beautifully kept. The food is always exceptional, with seasonal ingredients put together expertly. The team are friendly, attentive and courteous, proper Shropshire hospitality at its best. We keep coming back, and I held off writing a review for ages because I worried it might get too busy to get a table. But the team deserve recognition for what they've achieved.

Dinner at Old Downton Lodge was a treat, every part of the meal disappeared, especially the sticky toffee pudding with Granny Smith sorbet. We stayed in the Four Poster room, which was immaculate and well equipped. The place has loads of charm, feels luxurious, and the quiet rural setting was exactly what we needed. The staff were lovely to talk with during dinner and looked after us from the moment we booked online.

Everyone in our group had great things to say about the beautiful venue, outstanding food and superb drinks. The staff kept up with everything throughout the event, and made sure all our guests arrived and were cared for. We really appreciated how much effort the team put into their hospitality. It was fantastic, and we'll definitely visit again. Thanks so much!
