Good range of real ales, too. I love pies, and this one was amazing: turkey, ham and leek with red cabbage, chips and peas. It was the lunchtime special with chips for £10, and honestly, I could have eaten two. Great pub.

We’re new to the village and visiting from Leicester. We stopped in for a drink and found the staff and atmosphere really friendly and welcoming. Jane, the owner, was very helpful and gave us lots of tips. I’d highly recommend it to visitors.

We were in Ludlow on holiday for a week, and this was easily the best meal we had. We tried to come back the next day but it was fully booked, which says a lot. I’d recommend making a reservation. On our first visit, six of us and a dog arrived without booking and got lucky with a table in the bar. Dogs aren’t allowed in the restaurant section, and we were asked to order quickly because a large party was expected later. The service was spot on, friendly and fast, and they brought a drink and treats for the dog. Everything came quickly, piping hot, tasty and in large portions. The chicken, ham and leek pie was packed with meat and especially good. The steak and lasagne were also delicious. This short review hardly does The Queens justice for that visit.

They gave us a lovely welcome and the service was great. We had a dog, so sat in the bar area; the restaurant was full anyway. The menu was nice and the steak, pie and chips were tasty. Crumble and custard for pudding was amazing. Would definitely go again. Thanks!
