This is a budget hotel that could use a little more care. The staff were friendly, though, and the room was spacious, with a view over fields. In the morning, you can see Red Kites fly past the window. Getting into the petrol station, Starbucks and hotel is a big problem: the entrance has huge potholes that need filling urgently. If you don’t drive very slowly, they could damage your car. I’ve stayed in better Travelodges, but also worse ones. Sunday night rates are low at £25, and I wouldn’t pay more than that.

Handy location and an affordable stay. I’d suggest putting guests with pets in rooms away from the doors. My dog kept getting up whenever someone used one of the five heavy emergency doors nearby.

The receptionist was very pleasant, and the location is convenient, though pretty noisy. The corridor and room smelled stale and smoky. The room itself was okay, but there were large cobwebs in the corners, and neither the bed nor the pillows was comfortable. The bathroom looked tired and didn’t have a bath mat. The shower was really poor, weaker than rain. Definitely one of the worst Travelodges we’ve stayed in.

I’ve stayed in quite a few around the country, and this was my best night’s sleep. It’s in a great spot, very quiet, with really comfortable beds and friendly staff. I’m so grateful they found my bum bag after I misplaced it. A great stay, and I’d come back.

Great rooms, and the mighty Oscar looked after us on his graveyard shift. He was a very knowledgeable geeza.
