Hampton by Hilton London Luton Airport

For getting to the airport or catching a train to London, this is the best option I’ve found in Luton. I had a very comfortable night, the staff were friendly, and the food, including breakfast, was nice. Camden lager on draft was a welcome extra. Nothing to fault.

A thoughtful place for travellers, with a 24/7 front desk for late arrivals, plenty of comfortable lounge seating with charging ports, and a snack bar open around the clock. It’s also handy if you need to wait after checkout before a flight. We stayed one night. The Dart train is two minutes away on foot, and Thameslink is right there too. Our room was nice, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and we appreciated having tea or coffee with real milk. Breakfast was excellent, with lots to choose from: eggs prepared two ways, bacon, sausage, hash browns, beans, yoghurt and fruit, muffins, croissants, breads, cereal, make-your-own waffles, deli meats and cheeses.

The staff are what I love most about Hampton by Hilton London Luton Airport. They were ready to help with anything. The beds were very comfortable, and despite the busy road and train station nearby, I couldn’t hear any noise inside. It has real class, even with so many airport travellers passing through.

We stayed once before flying and again on the night we got back. The rooms were comfortable, though our first one felt very small for three people. The second seemed almost twice as big and was much more comfortable. Check the air conditioning, as it isn’t obvious how to adjust the temperature. Parking was easy and right beside the hotel. The terminal is a relatively short distance away, but walking uphill for around 30 minutes with luggage at 4am wasn’t an option for us. We couldn’t have breakfast before our early departure, so reception gave us a breakfast bag at checkout with a croissant, jam, cereal bar, yoghurt and fruit juice. There’s a nice bar area with drinks and snacks, but dinner was overpriced. Eat elsewhere if you can.
