Stuart Hotel

The woman at the desk was sweet when I arrived after making a late night booking, but the room was freezing even with the heating on. The place smelled of mould, cigarettes, and weed, and it felt like it was falling apart. The toilet seat was broken, the sink was vile, and the door was coming apart, with mould around some of the skirting boards. The shower had no handle, wouldn't shut, and its broken head couldn't be fixed. Mould surrounded the windows, which wouldn't close properly. For the price, it wasn't worth risking my safety. I'd rather spend a few more quid elsewhere. I should've read the reviews.

The beds were comfortable, the TV was big, and there was both a shower and a bath. Cleaners came daily, and the place was always clean, with fresh towels each day. I ended up here because I was homeless and, to cut a long story short, I was lucky enough to have the money to stay in a hotel. This was the cheapest option. I give it five stars for everything, but the car park was the one bad part: it cost £15 a day, and I wasn't happy that another car hit mine and left a dent. I don't know who did it.

It's handy for the town centre and other amenities, and that's the one good point for me. The room wasn't very clean, especially the carpet, and the toilet was dirty. The shower's soap dispenser was empty, and I didn't find the service good either. That helps explain the low price, though parking still costs £15 a night.

We booked this for the night before our flight, but the room smelled of cigarettes and the dirty bed had dead flies on the sheet. The door had no lock, which was a security breach. We checked in at 11:30 pm, left again before 1 am, and slept in the car because it felt cleaner and safer. They refused my refund request. Worst hotel I've stayed in, and even one star is generous. Don't go here.
