The freshly cooked breakfasts were a real treat both mornings, and everyone we met, from reception through to the dining room, was friendly and polite. My wife and I came up from Cornwall for a friend’s funeral and spent two nights at this hotel. The staff did all they could to make us comfortable. If we visit the New Forest again, we’ll book this Premier Inn.

I needed to know whether a standard room for three nights in October had two beds, as I assumed the second option might be a settee. Since I’ve just had a hip replacement, I wanted a comfortable bed, and settees usually aren’t great for that. Getting an answer from Premiere Inn’s Helpline was a nightmare. I spoke to three people, none of whom spoke good English. They asked basic booking questions but didn’t listen to what I was asking. The whole process was inefficient, and when I asked to speak to someone else, they ignored me.

The rooms were lovely and the food was fantastic during our one-night stay on 24th November 2025. The hotel was in an ideal spot for visiting our friend. A big shout out to MATTHEW and newcomer OLLIVER, such a friendly team. MATTHEW is doing a great job training him. The manager should promote MATTHEW: he was helpful, kind and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. He made the stay a pleasure. We’d definitely recommend the hotel and stay again.

We thought we’d booked a cute hotel with a pub and restaurant, as you’d normally expect with Premier Inn, for a relaxing couples’ break. The website looked lovely, but arriving was a shock: it felt like driving behind an abandoned pub and into an empty car park. The only sign of life was the Amazon locker. We couldn’t check in early without paying extra, so we thought we’d wait in the bar, but it was closed to the public and only open at meal times. When we finally got to our room, it was dirty and below the usual Premier Inn standard. We’d booked a 6pm table, but only a small part of the restaurant was in use, crammed with scruffy tables and chairs. There was no atmosphere or music. The chef greeted us in filthy clothes and hadn’t even started cooking. We were disgusted and fed up, and our weekend to relax was ruined. We checked out and drove 2.5 hours home. Premier Inn won’t refund us for both nights, for a reason that makes no sense. They say they don’t need to state the site’s condition on the website, even though staff there had been told the information was online. They were shocked when we said it wasn’t. I wish I’d read the other poor reviews first.

We felt very safe and well looked after, just the two women and our little one, aged 2.5 years, travelling alone. All the staff were friendly and polite, and Matthew especially went above and beyond. The room was spotless, including the bathroom and bedding. Breakfast was good too: continental food is laid out buffet-style, while cooked dishes are made to order. If you’ve paid for unlimited breakfast, just tell the staff what you’d like more of and they’ll sort it out. I’d read some of the comments before we went and was a little concerned, but I came away with nothing but good things to say. The communal areas and outside look a bit tired and could do with some TLC, but everything else was fab.
